It all started with this picture of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I sent this picture to our regular badminton chat group in watsapp and said that this body is the ideal male body. This led to hues and cries from the “macho” men in the group. 😛
The ladies were in agreement and wished that their husbands had this body type whereas the men (almost all of them!) who did not have this kind of body were in denial stating various excuses; body shapes are a gift from God, they are getting older, gravity, giving chance to the younger generation to improve their body shape, blah, blah, blah. After a round of discussions (excuses, actually!), one brave brother-in-law of mine finally owned up that he wanted to be fit and that’s how the concept of “Biggest Loser 2015 – Family & Friends Edition” was born.
Everyone in our chat group was on fire discussing how to start the challenge, the prize for the biggest loser, how each of them was going to lose weight. Although there was a lot of teasing and poking fun at those of the heavier side but generally all were eager to participate probably because deep inside they wanted to be fit. Health is wealth, after all..
So after much deliberation, we have agreed to the following details of the competition:
- The competition will run from March – December 2015
- The winner of this competition is the person who loses the most body fat in terms of percentage
- There will be 2 categories; Male & Female, which means there will be 2 winners
- A fitness challenge will be held on a monthly basis to judge the fitness of the contestants
- The contestants can opt for any type of weight loss, either diet, exercise or both but it must be safe
For everyone to take this challenge seriously, Madhi and I arranged a weigh-in for the contestants at Madhi’s dad’s home. 4 guys and 2 ladies (including me) attended the weigh-in. Those that could not make it, the weigh-in will be extended till this Sunday, 8th March after which, the actual competition commences. We also took pictures of the contestants and inserted their stats in the picture and we will be doing so every month till the competition ends. Here is mine (I know, I know…I look horrible in my aunty pyjamas). 🙂
Ok..my stats are not great, but that’s why we’re having this challenge in the 1st place. Motivation increases when we work in a group as there is always pressure to conform to the group’s standards..herd mentality..right..but in a positive way, of course.
I can’t wait to see everyone’s results in December. I will definitely post about the Biggest Loser Challenge because I’m pretty confident that there will be some really amazing results. 🙂
I will keep you posted on the competition, till then..cheers! Oops, have to reduce my intake, so no cheers..only BOOYAH!!
